If you weren't so sweet...

Nothing says summer like the juicy, sweet pulp of a strawberry. You might sprinkle yours with icing sugar, dollop on fresh cream, or even drizzle them with balsamic vinegar. Me, I like mine au natural, and preferably with a few nobbly, gnarly knots that seem to concentrate the sweetness.

Throughout November, New Zealand Hospice is raising funds with a strawberry festival. If you can't make it to one of their events, click here to donate a virtual strawberry sundae. And don't forget to be charitable to yourself too, and pick up a punnet or two.

That is such a cute idea for the Hospice! Can't believe I never knew about it!
