Huffer to the rescue

I didn't think my love affair with Huffer could get any deeper...until they brought out my favourite tee as a hoodie, just as the temperature drops into single digits.

As I sit here typing, it is so cold that I'm cradling a mug of tea with the other hand, and my knees are shivering under the table. Although technically it's still autumn, winter is definitely making its imminent arrival felt.

Pah, nothing a little Huffer hoodie couldn't fix.

The denim jacket changes its spots

I love it when someone gives you a new twist on a classic, such as this Scarlett denim jacket by Swedish label Acne.

The basic denim jacket shape is still there, but switching the sleeves to a cropped bell shape is inspiring me to buy my first denim jacket in almost a decade, because suddenly my old Levis number looks dated and boring.

How cute would it look with knitted fingerless gloves and a wristful of silver bangles?

Just waiting for winter

I love winter clothes. There is something so sensual about all the soft textures, even though we spend months and months hidden away under layers. Have you ever worn a silky camisole under a wool jumper? Delish!

I was putting away a couple of new purchases and couldn't resist snapping the line-up in my wardrobe, just waiting for a chilly morning. Clothes this winter are especially appealing, with sequins and prints and soft, squishy knits. I've already listed all my favourite things about Autumn, and layering up snuggly colours and textures each morning is top of my list for winter. I even bought a fur trimmed beanie, although I'm not sure it will ever get cold enough in Auckland to justify that one. Perhaps a trip to the South Island then...

What new winter things have you bought, Beaunz belles?

Saturday Scrapbook : Colours and textures of winter

Creepers at Kathryn Wilson

The recent rainy weather has inspired me to start culling and curating my winter wardrobe, and I've enjoyed the thrill of squeezing into knits and velvet even in the muggy heat of airless changing rooms.

So, today's Scrapbook is all about the textures and colours I've noticed in the shops and PR showrooms for winter. Enjoy!

It's black, it's white...

I love winter clothes...crazy love them...and words cannot describe how much I want these pants from Phillip Lim's latest NYFW collection.

I just know that my life would be enriched and fulfilled if I had them in my wardrobe, and more importantly, on my legs.

NYFW is proving to be a winner, I love all the blacks and blues and dark reds. These would go perfectly with my (fingers crossed - I'm on the waiting list) royal blue tiered winter cape by Adrian Hailwood, and Kathryn Wilson creepers.

It's the height of cruelty, giving us winter winners when it's still 97% humidity outside. Maybe I'll start hanging out in the freezer section...
